Every Thursday, Station Stretch Secondary hosts a social group where students have the chance to connect with their peers, staff, and the local community. Recently, our group had the exciting opportunity to visit the Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) Farm to learn about their Farmer Training Program.

KPU farm leader, Alex, guided us on a tour of the farm and shared how each plot of land is used for different projects. One fascinating initiative we learned about is a student project exploring how rice can be grown in our local climate.

We also got hands-on experience harvesting fresh flowers and produce grown right on the farm. It was a fun, educational, and inspiring day that connected us to sustainable farming and our wider community.
